Chemistry A Level is a modern and relevant course, which provides a streamlined progression through units, leading to certification at AS or A2 level. It has been written by a range of educational providers which includes some large chemical companies. It is organised into logically sequenced teaching units, each of which is freestanding and tells its own story about modern applications of Chemistry. It is appropriate for learners of varying aptitudes, giving clear guidance for less able learners, yet remaining rigorous and challenging for higher-achieving learners. The entry requirements for the course are a Grade B in GCSE Chemistry or a Grade A in Double Award Science. A minimum of a grade B is also required in GCSE Maths. Chemistry is one of the most popular A Level sought by universities. In addition to it being essential for many medical related degrees, pharmacy, chemical engineering for example, it also desirable in many others: law, biological sciences. An A level in Chemistry equips you with analytical, problem solving communication, numeracy, organisational and research skills as well as an understanding of how the chemical elements interact and the role they play in making up our world and beyond.
