Unit 1 Public Service Skills Looking at the qualities needed when dealing with the public alongside the importance of being able to work as part of a team. We then focus upon communication skills. These are essential and transferable skills across a wide range of career choices. Unit 4 Career Planning for the Public Services We investigate the application and selection process within public services. Researching the skills and qualities employers are looking for within a range of public service jobs. Anyone who applies for a job in the public services will almost certainly face stiff competition from other applicants. The recruitment and selection process for most public service jobs is usually quite a lengthy one. Unit 5 Improving Health and Fitness for Entry to the Uniformed Public Services This will help you to understand the importance of personal health and lifestyle and the impact that it has on their fitness. It will also give you the opportunity to take part in various fitness tests and assess their own fitness levels in relation to the required standards. Unit 2 Employment in the Uniformed Public Services or Non-Uniformed Public Services These two units look at the roles and responsibilities within public service. Theory content is similar for both units with a change in emphasis between uniformed and non-unformed services. This will provide you with an understanding of employment opportunities in public services.
