This qualification is designed to give you an introduction to the broad range of analytical skills required by an Aeronautical Engineering Technician. You will spend time developing skills and knowledge through a balance of theory and practical lessons, during which you will learn about the theory of flight and aircraft maintenance practices. To build on your general skills as an engineer you will study maths and science units at level 3 and you will also gain a strong understanding of materials and health and safety. Towards the end of this course you will be given a taste of more focused elements of Aeronautical Engineering to prepare you for moving onto the Level 3 Edexcel BTEC Diploma/Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
