This course is designed for students who wish to gain sports qualification to further their career aspirations in the sports and leisure industries, or prepare them for further training or higher education. This is a vocational qualification delivered over 2 days, designed to develop theoretical knowledge and apply it into a practical setting to progress into this rapidly increasing industry of Sport and Exercise Science. Anatomy and Physiology for Sport and Exercise, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Research Methods for Sport and Exercise Sciences, Training and Fitness for Sport and Exercise, Sports Nutrition, Sports, Coaching, Sport and Exercise Massage, Physical Activity, Lifestyle and Wellbeing. Each module is assessed through a range of coursework assignments, presentations, practical group / individual work. Varied teaching strategies and learning environments are used which include classrooms, human physiology and science laboratories, and sports field and sports hall. The College also has links with a variety of local sporting organisations.
