If you have an interest in Performing Arts and wish to study this further, then this course is suitable for you. The Extended Diploma Performing Arts has four specialist pathways that you can choose from: Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre or Technical Theatre. This Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels. The Level 3 Extended Diploma is a two year course worth 180 credits and is usually taken after successful completion of the Diploma in the first year. There are core units that all pathways study and specialist units. - Dance: ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and urban techniques, choreography, performance and anatomy for dance; - Acting: Acting techniques, classical and contemporary text, movement studies, radio acting, voice, theatre in education and performance; - Musical Theatre: Dance techniques (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and urban), acting techniques, voice, singing; - Technical Theatre: Lighting, sound, prop making, events management, production management, stage management.
