Functional Skills English - Abbey Park Campus

Functional Skills English is made up of 3 units: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. At Entry Level you will develop and become more confident at: taking part in 1:1 conversations and group discussions; reading and writing different kinds of texts; writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar. At Entry level you will demonstrate your skills for certification through classroom based assessment. At Levels 1 and 2 you will develop and become confident in discussion and presentation skills; reading to understand and recognise different purposes of text; using punctuation, grammar and spelling. At Levels 1 and 2 assessment is through observation of the discussion and presentation for the Speaking and Listening unit, and exams for the Reading and Writing units.
