Introduction to Floristry(Funded by Staffs County Council)

The course is for those who are complete beginners or with some knowledge of Flower arranging and would like to learn different teqniques for arranging and displaying flowers to create a artistic arrangement. This short course is a Leisure course for your own development in creating your designs. You will learn about a range of basic floristry techniques to give you the confidence and skills to achieve a variety of designs. You will gain practical experience in the use of floristry equipment. We will explore the principles and elements of design with the focus on colour, texture and shape. Each week will consist of a staged demonstration by your experienced tutor; you will then create your design with help and guidance as necessary., This is a fun, relaxed and informal session with the emphasis on having fun whilst learning.

For practical work: Floristry scissors available from floristry supply websites.. Apron as part of the college's PPE requirements. Plastic table cloth to protect your work surface area. For student course notes A4 ring folder and plastic wallets or a document file. Note pad you may want to take notes during sessions and make a simple sketch of each design demonstrated.
