PUBLIC SERVICES LEVEL 3 BTEC 90 CREDIT DIPLOMA (QCF)

UPDATED 20160323 16:23:35

Public services courses are designed to make you a more attractive candidate for employment in many of the uniformed public services - Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Prison Service - and easing the transition between school and the life in the services. Alternatively, you could use your qualification to progress onto Higher Education. In addition to studying the public services, you will also be improving your self-discipline, time management and fitness, all of which can be used in any area of work. The course will involve looking at work-related areas, entry requirements to services and selection processes, as well as some other related areas such as Government funding, citizenship, teamwork, leadership and navigation. Your classroom sessions will make up approximately 80% of your timetable and this could take the form of lectures, discussions, role play or workshops. Your timetable will involve a minimum of 3 days at college, with some study time available in between sessions. However, it is paramount that you put in a minimum of 8 hours of independent study per week outside of college, which could involve researching, completing homework tasks or putting together assignments.
