Watercolours Beginners I

This course in watercolour painting is a starting point to learn, explore and develop the skills and inspiration needed to create your own watercolour paintings. During this course, you will be introduced to basic painting techniques and how to use artistic materials. By the end of the course, you will have experimented with a range of painting techniques and produced your own final artwork. Techniques covered on this course will include: Wash technique Stretching paper Brush care Wet onto wet technique Wet onto dry technique Basic drawing skills and preliminary sketches How to build up layers of colour. You will learn how to mix colours using the primaries, and about materials such as watercolour paper, paints, brushes, pallets, sponges and associated equipment. A range of painting topics will be covered which will be incorporated via the techniques mentioned above. These will be discussed and agreed in the first session of the course and could include stimuli such as flowers, seascapes and boats.
