In Economics students apply economic theory to real-life business contexts to help them understand the complexities of the world around them. Students also use data to help them analyse markets and economies, and how governments try to influence both. Students use economic theory to explain events and develop an understanding of the strategies employed by businesses in responding to these events. In Theme 1 students will learn about how markets work and what happens when they don’t work so well. You will also learn about enterprise in the economy.Students will consider the role of banks and life in a global economy in Theme 2. The AS level is embedded in the A level: Theme 1 and Theme 2 comprise the same content for both the AS and A level specifications."
