There are two modules at AS , Computing Principles and Algorithms and Problem Solving. All the assessment is through end of year exams with no practical (coursework) element. Computing Principles involves programming, software development, the processor, data exchange between computing systems. The Algorithms and Problem Solving element applies these concepts to real world situations and requires students to develop a solution. It is also necessitates understanding of common real-world algorithms, when and how they are applied. The course has a strong programming element which means that students understand advanced computational and mathematical concepts.
