Further maths gives able students the opportunity to extend their maths knowledge by sampling some university-level material. It is also a modern mathematics course where the emphasis is on making maths relevant and interesting. In further maths you will study pure maths, statistics, and mechanics at a more conceptually advanced level than A-Level Maths.Topics could include:- Complex numbers- Matrices- Calculus- Vectors- Summation of seriesThe further maths group is usually a collection of high achieving, highly motivated and very able students. It allows the tutors to set a good pace and provide very challenging problems for the students to solve. If you like mathematics and fancy a challenge then this is definitely the course for you.
