The study of English Language and Literature as a combined course encourages students to develop an interest in both language and literature as interconnecting and mutually supportive disciplines. If students enjoy reading and discussing a range of literature, but also have an interest in the linguistic approaches to language – students will enjoy this course. We explore the relationship between language and literature through a wide range of reading opportunities; critically reading and responding to both literary texts and non-literary texts, as well as writing for different audiences and purposes.
