Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Heating

This qualification allows learners to become competent to industry standards in plumbing and heating. Learners are required to demonstrate the ability to perform the necessary skills and the knowledge required to be assessed against the National Occupational Standards. These qualifications form the core element of the apprenticeship for the sector. Approximately 50% of this course is practical and your learning will be based within our Construction Workshops. On site assessment is required for Units 019 - Apply safe working practices in building services engineering and Unit 022 - Install and maintain domestic heating systems. To achieve the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Heating, learners must achieve 76 credits from the mandatory units. These include: Unit 001 - Understand and carry out safe working practices in building services engineering Unit 002 - Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering Unit 003 - Understand how to apply environmental protection measures within building services engineering Unit 004 - Understand how to apply scientific principles within mechanical engineering services Unit 005 - Understand and carry out site preparation, and pipework fabrication techniques for domestic plumbing and heating services Unit 006 - Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation and maintenance techniques Unit 007 - Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance techniques Unit 008 - Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation and maintenance techniques You will also be expected to undertake Functional Skills at an appropriate level.
