These qualifications are aimed at learners wishing to gain further understanding of Personal Development for Employability. The content of the qualification is designed to be flexible for learners to achieve a variety of employment based skills, along with a number of work related tasters. There are no prerequisites for these qualifications; however it is recommended that learners have a good level of literacy (verbal and written) skills. The Level 1 Certificate is made up of mandatory and optional units. Learners must achieve a minimum of 13 credits in order to complete this qualification. This is achieved by completing the following: • the single mandatory unit totalling 1 credit at level 1. Plus: • a minimum of 12 credits from the optional units Progression Learners who successfully complete one of these qualifications may progress in one of the following routes: • Employment: Successful learners in completing this qualification will gain the skills and knowledge required to start work in a variety of different sector areas e.g. security, customer service. • Education: Successful learners may wish to continue with their educational development and look towards completing the higher level qualification in personal development for employability (Level 2) available from HABC, or work towards a more specific work based qualification.
