This apprenticeship is designed for individuals employed in the hospitality industry in a chefs role, such as a commis or trainee chef in a hotel or restaurant kitchen who needs to develop or consolidate their skills. You are required to take three mandatory units which cover aspects of maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment, working effectively as part of a hospitality team and food safety. You then have a choice of a wide range of optional units covering different preparation and cooking methods for different areas of the kitchen. In addition you will study employment rights and responsibilities, personal learning & thinking skills plus be required to take Functional Skills in both English and maths if you do not have GCSE grade C or equivalent. You must achieve all elements to be awarded your apprenticeship. We welcome all enquiries and will be happy to give you further advice and guidance.
