The emphasis of this course is on developing and enhancing skills in writing, speaking, listening, reading, and general comprehension. The coursework allows you to pursue an individual interest or area of study. It focuses on independent research and learning, and the development of study skills, providing an invaluable preparation for higher level study and supporting study in other subjects. For the exam you will work on developing your skills in reading and comprehension of Literary Non-Fiction e.g. autobiography, biography, letters, memoir and travel/adventure writing. You will practise writing creatively and critically, choosing one of the following types of writing in the exam: Descriptive, Imaginative, Argumentative or Discursive. You will work on achieving accuracy in your written work.
