GCE AS Level in Economics

UPDATED 20150420 15:35:18

There has never been a more exciting time to study economics as the aftermath of the global recession has left many economies in a fragile state. Economics has been classified as a strong academic subject and is highly regarded by all the leading Universities in recent years. In each year of study you will complete units on both Micro and Macro Economics. Micro economic topics include 'Why are cigarette prices so high in the UK?', 'Can pollution effectively be controlled?' and 'Should governments interfere with markets?'. The macroeconomic issues covered include- 'Why does the Government have an inflation rate target and how does it affect us?', 'What happens to the economy if people decide to spend more?' and 'How are we affected by the Chinese and Indian economies?'.
