Who is it for? The qualification is aimed at anyone interested in working with young people in a youth work setting or becoming a youth and community worker. What is the structure? You must achieve a minimum of 23 credits; 17 from four mandatory units and a further six from the 16 optional units. The mandatory units are: - Safeguarding young people in a youth work setting - Support the provision of information and advice to young people - Understanding youth work principles and practice - Youth work principles, knowledge and skills in work based practice Where will it take me? You can take additional optional units as professional development including: - Playwork - Children’s and young people’s workforce qualifications - Learning and development/advice guidance The qualification will also enable you to progress to a Level 3 Diploma and would help you to progress in a wide range of youth work roles, either part time or full time, paid or for the voluntary sector.
