UPDATED 20150211 10:36:31

This is an excellent introduction to computer software programmes for the beginner. It is practical and links tasks to jobs which are carried out in the business services sector or for personal use. No previous experience is necessary, although literacy to at least entry 3 is necessary to copy with the demands of the course. There are 3 units to achieve: * Create and amend documents using text, numbers and graphics. This will involve becoming familiar with WORD and CLIPART to combine text and pictures to produce standard short documents such as a letter notice, or poster. * Send, receive and reply to emails. How to access the Internet and use electronic forms of communication for personal or business use is covered in the sessions * Produce charts using ICT. This involves acquiring basic knowledge of Excel to create a spreadsheet which in turn can be converted into a graphical representation. Calculations using basic formulae are applied to relevant day to day situations such as tracking housekeeping expenses and budgets.
