This course teaches the essential principles of Biology in which all exams are taken at the end of Year 13. The exam board is AQA. In the first year of A-level, students will learn about biological molecules, cells, organisms exchange substances with their environment and genetic information, variation & relationships between organisms. In the second year, they study energy transfers in and between organisms, organisms responding to changes in their internal & external environments, genetics, populations, evolution & ecosystems and the control of gene expression. There will be 3 papers, all lasting 2 hours each. Paper 1 & 2 make up 35% of the A-level respectively and paper 3 is 30%.
