Chemistry GCE A Level Level 3

UPDATED 20170126 12:53:36

Responsible for everything from the air we breathe to the water we drink, chemistry is an integral part of the world. If you want to learn more about how new materials are constructed, how food is made, or how medicines are developed, then this A-Level course is for you. You'll cover topics across all aspects of the subject, including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry. In your first year, you'll learn how chemistry affects the environment around us, why space explorations analyse chemicals, what the atomic structure is, and how the Victorians made mirrors! You'll look at organic molecules, exploring how plastics are made, how alcohol ferments and how cleaner fuels are being developed. In physical chemistry, you'll focus on thermodynamics and bases buffers, whilst in inorganic chemistry you'll see how ions react with elements in the periodic table. Throughout the course, you'll be completing a series of practical experiments to build on the theory you're learning, developing the scientific logic to critically assess a wide range of issues in the community and the world!
