Jogakbo is the name given to traditional Korean patchwork, it is a discipline that expresses Korea's sense of beauty and creativity. Having been passed down from generations for six centuries, this craft has been used to create various household items with materials that were sourced from leftover cloth. The use of contemporary Jogakbo in modern times is widespread and is generally used for designs of everyday accessories such as bags, pouches, tea ware covers, table runners, etc. Through this course students will learn to make beautiful Jogakbo items in the traditional way, as well as developing a greater awareness of balance through their Jogakbo designs.
