This Guitar course covers the very basics from naming the parts of the guitar, tuning and how to read chords. You will explore the most popular chord sequences used in thousands of tunes and look at how these have been used in a variety of musical styles such as pop, folk, country, etc., You will cover basic musical theory explaining how chords are formed, their various types and how to transpose into different keys, as well as simple strumming and finger picking techniques., By the end of the course you should be able to accompany yourself or others in playing songs and work out a basic arrangement for almost any song you would like to play., To benefit fully from this course, students are advised to practice the exercises and pieces in their own time. Beginners are welcome as well as those who completed the Beginners course in the Autumn Term.
