This Portrait painting and drawing course in Sevenoaks will guide you through the stages of building up a portrait in various media including colour mixing and layering using glazes. Working with both a Male and Female Model you will explore how to approach getting a likeness yet encourgaing students to develop their own style of painting. , By the end of the course you should be able to :-, achieve the correct proportions and shape of the sitter's face and head., achieve the correct positioning and proportions of the sitter's facial features., create an under-drawing or under-painting as part of my planning., have developed your skills in mixing accurate skin tone colours., , This Portrait painting and drawing course is for beginners and those who want to improve their portrait drawing or painting .Students will learn various techniques and approaches to portraiture through drawing into painting in various media It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
