Course Description Silver CREST Award CREST rewards creativity in engineering science and technology and rewards students for excellence in STEM subjects. It is a nationally recognised scheme and there is the opportunity to move on to a gold CREST award in the future. Students wishing to go for a silver CREST award are expected to complete a project that takes up approximately 30 hours working time. Students are expected to work iteratively on their project. Their projects should be needed and they should keep a record of all of the research, designing, planning, making, testing and evaluation work that takes place during the process. The process should not be seen as a linear process. Every project is difference. Silver CREST is delivered through Design and Technology route at QMGS. The award enables a student to enjoy designing and making without having to produce a detailed portfolio of work that is often prescribed by examination boards.
