Apprentices are employed either on a full or part time basis, dependent on the needs of either the employer or apprentice. If you are aged 16-18 or if you are 19+ and in the first year of your apprenticeship you will earn the Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage rate per hour. After that the National Minimum Wage for your age group applies. The qualification studied in college includes all the required elements to work effectively as a make-up artist including: facial skincare, enhancement of eyebrows and eyelashes, make-up services, instructing on skincare and make-up application, effectiveness at work, health and safety and promoting additional products and services to clients.
