Vocational Pathway-Sport course is designed to develop the skills knowledge and attitudes in readiness for paid employment within the sport & leisure industry. Students will be involved in a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities. The course aims to assist students to develop the essential skills necessary to participate and lead in sports. Students will learn the skills and health and safety awareness to assist organising and leading sporting events and activities. The course offers the opportunity to undertake work experience placement within sport & leisure industry. Your academic studies will include English Maths and ICT which will be developed according to the learner's assessed levels and abilities. Vocational Pathway-Sport course is designed to develop fundamental employment skills for gaining work in the sports and leisure industry. You will develop your work skills by being offered the opportunity to undertake work experience placement as a sport hall assistant. This one year course will also offer essential study skills and knowledge to students who aspire to further their education on a mainstream sports course. For the future the Sport Course can also be the first step towards undertake short coaching awards. Your academic studies will include Maths and English with the aim of raising individual standards towards national Functional Skills qualifications. Attending the Sport Course will give you the chance to access the local and wider community develop your social skills promote healthy eating create your personal training and fitness plan boost self- confidence and promote enjoyment.

The portfolios are internally assessed and verified prior to external verification by an awarding body. Most students will be entered for Functional Skills English and Maths live assessments at the level indicated during initial assessments and verified through continuous diagnostic assessments.
