This qualification aims to introduce learners to their use of counselling skills in everyday life and work and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills. The objectives of this qualification are to learners to, develop counselling skills, understand the different approaches involved in the use of counselling skills and appreciate the importance of self-development. Name: COUNSELLING SKILLS LEVEL 2 NCFE Qualification title: Certificate in Counselling Skills (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced Counselling professional who will use a wide variety of teaching methods to help you to learn and progress to the next level. Lectures, discussions, independent research and practical tasks. You must provide evidence to show you can assess using all of the methods listed in the unit. As a minimum, there must be performance evidence for the following assessment methods (simulations are not allowed): observation of performance in the work environment; examining products of work; questioning the learner. Other forms of evidence will be acceptable for the remaining assessment methods: discussing with the learner; use of others (witness testimony); looking at learner statements; recognising prior learning. You must also carry out at least two assessments of two learners' occupational competence - four assessments in total. Holistic assessment is encouraged and one piece of evidence may be used to meet the requirements of more than one learning outcome or assessment criterion.
