The course deals with specific areas in the teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It includes each of the following areas: - Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context - Language analysis and awareness - Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing - Planning and resources for different teaching contexts - Developing teaching skills and professionalism You will learn by a mixture of supervised teaching, observation of live lessons taught by experienced teachers, peer observation, tutorials, and group and independent study. You will also have access to the computing resources in the College, including the latest multi-media facilities in the FLEX. Your teaching skills will be assessed throughout the course and you will also be required to complete written assignments.
