The AAT Certificate is a Level 2 programme designed to develop sound basic skills in finance and accounting which can be used at work. Students can use their knowledge and skills in accounting and finance in Accounting Departments or in any other work setting that involves dealing with financial matters. AAT courses give students the skills as well as the qualification they need to take their study further. The courses are designed to build confidence and personal development and to enable learners to work independently and successfully in order to move to the next Level. AAT is a national suite of qualifications recognised by employers across the country. AAT students are valued for their determination and independent study skills.

Lessons are planned to take the learning needs of each individual into account. This is a demanding course and you will have to make sure that you have time each week to do a substantial amount of preparation and practice. You will need basic stationery, and a good USB stick and a good calculator are useful. We have an excellent library and good IT facilities at college. We may request contributions for trips and outings. Coming to college is a full-time commitment and you should factor in the cost of travelling to college and potentially a local work placement.
