This course is designed for those who have an interest in engineering, with a desire to have a career within this sector. We will provide you with the practical experience and the technical knowledge to work in the engineering industry. You will learn the basic fundamentals of mechanical engineering through a combination of theory lessons and practical work in our contemporary engineering workshops.Throughout this course you will study a range of subjects, including wiring electrical circuits, making engineering components, interpreting and using engineering information, using the bench drill, health and safety practices, and various employability units.Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.Application for courses starting in September 2017 will open shortly.
