Preparing to Work in Homebased Childcare (Childminding)

The aim of this course is to prepare you to set up a home based childcare setting, or be employed in home based roles such as childminding assistants, nannies or au-pairs. As well as gaining new knowledge relevant to childcare, such as Safeguarding and children's learning and development; this course will support you to develop the necessary skills to meet registration requirements to set up a home based child care service such as developing policies and procedures. You will also learn basic business skills, including writing a business plan and learn about financial and taxation requirements associated with a home based childcare business. Completion of this course will also enable prospective childminders to register with Ofsted as a home-based childcare provider.
