Clothesmaking - understanding & adapting commercial patterns

This 5 week course will give you the confidence to be able to adapt & alter commercial sewing patterns. This will include taking personal measurements accurately & correctly, adjusting the size of the pattern to fit you, changing any design features such as necklines or sleeves, learning how to produce your own pattern by draping on a mannequin (this course will be invaluable to those learners also taking the Make your own Personal Fit mannequin TFD242SBR).

Entry requirements

You will need to bring a Basic Sewing Kit to include dressmaking pins, needles, tape measure, fabric & paper cutting out scissors, threads ( if you are buying these items from scratch they will cost approximately £25-30). You will also need to purchase at least one commercial garment pattern (costing approx. £7-10 each).
