Over five classes you will be introduced to new textiles skills and techniques including cross stitch, block printing, rag rugging, felting and creative machine sewing. The classes will be as follows: Week 1: Sew me how to make bunting – Learning basic sewing machine skills. Week 2: Personalised cross-stitch gift tags. Week 3: Printed cotton tote bag – Block printing for beginners. Week 4: Design and make a felt brooch – Learning felting and hand embellishment. Week 5: Shabby chic rag wreath. By the end of the course you can expect to be able to do the following; • Have gained five new skills you can use and apply at home. • Be confident in using new textiles techniques. • Have created an item each week to take away. Katie Knowles is a qualified Design and Technology teacher specialising in Textiles. An experienced craft and textiles educator, currently working in primary schools, Katie has a passion for teaching her subject to crafters of all ages.
