What will I study? First year. Developing training programmes for sports performance. Sports coaching. Measuring and understanding fitness requirements. How the body works in high-level sports performers. Practical sports. Second year. The lifestyle of an elite sports performer. The psychological requirements for sports performance. Work experience placement in the sports industry. Exclusively for BTEC Level 3 in Sport (Performance and Excellence) (Triple). Analysing individual and team performance. An understanding of the current issues in sport. Sports event planning and management. Assessment. Assessment will mainly be through internally assessed coursework. Where does it lead? Careers include sports therapy, physiotherapy (if taken with a science A Level), sports management, sport psychology, nutrition and sports technology and teaching. Students often go on to study sport or sports science at university.
