This AQA English Combined course has two papers and a non-exam assessment. Paper 1 is titled Telling Stories (-) it is 3 hours long and 40% of the A-level. There are three sections called: Remembered Places 40 marks, Imagined Worlds 35 marks and Poetic Voices 25 marks. Paper 2: Exploring Conflict is a 2h30 exam, another 40% of the overall Grade, and has two sections: Writing about Society 55 marks and Dramatic Encounter 45 marks. Both parts are open book. The final component is Making Connections which investigates a chosen theme and texts, with methods of language analysis integrates into the activity. This amounts for 20% and is between 2500 (-) 3000 words.
