Child Care at Levels 2 and 3 qualifications are suitable for anyone who would like to work with children and can show evidence of a genuine interest in working with children. It is designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to work with babies, children and young people in a variety of settings including nurseries, crèches, pre-schools and schools. These awards will enable you to develop and prove your practical competence as well as build your knowledge and understanding of early years care. What will you be learning? This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children's settings including early years and social care. Level 2 Childcare apprentices at Level 2 undertake a range of tasks for children and young people aged up to 19. The apprenticeship involves working under supervision in a childcare environment, such as a nursery assistant or a pre-school assistant, foundation units and children centres as well as support workers. Level 3 Childcare apprentices at Level 3 undertake a wide range of senior level tasks within early years. The apprenticeship demands that apprentices work with initiative, including planning, organising, observing and assessing children in the position of a nursery nurse, pre-school key worker, a child-minder or as a supervisor, room-leader and manager.
