Students will study Tsarist and Communist Russia 1855-1964 and the change, continuity, cause and consequence through investigating a number of questions including: how was Russia governed and how did political authority change and develop?; why did opposition develop and how effective was it? how and with what results did the economy develop and change? You will also study the making of modern Britain 1951-1979, focusing on political and economic developments, British foreign poilcy, issues in Northern Ireland and social and cultural changes.
