Whether you are a creative or technically minded individual wanting to get your foot in the door of the exciting global fashion and clothing industry, this BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is an excellent starting point. A key aspect of this Extended Diploma programme is the continual and formative assessment of coursework, so you will know how you are progressing at every stage. Your personal tutor will work closely to support you and help to monitor your development through regular 1:1 tutorials. Year One Year one of this creative and dynamic course introduces you to fashion illustration, pattern cutting, the manufacture of clothing, textiles, accessory design and fashion photography. Towards the end of the year, you will work with your peers to create a fashion collection which will be presented as part of the annual End of Year Fashion Show. Year Two In the second year of study you will advance your skills in design, pattern cutting and garment manufacture. You will also study CAD, fashion marketing and retail. At this stage in the course you will become ready to think about your application to Higher Education or employment, so you will be supported to research your options and to develop a portfolio of work evidencing the breadth of skills and knowledge you have gained. Your Final Major Project will allow you to design and create a Personal Fashion Collection and showcase your talents in the End of Year Show. During the second year of the course you will have the opportunity to take part in an overseas study trip. Recent destinations have included Paris and New York. We aim to develop creative, practical and technically able individuals, who upon completion of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma are well equipped with transferable skills for a variety of career opportunities.
