Functional Skills Mathematics

UPDATED 20161118 12:17:30

Functional Skills were designed to address the concerns of employers that many young people and adults lacked a firm understanding of basic English, Maths and ICT. Studying Functional Skills will help you to develop the transferable skills you need in everyday life and at work. If you have not already attained Maths at GCSE Grade C or above, and are not re-sitting Maths GCSE, you will be immediately assessed at Level 1 to identify specific subject weaknesses. Once you have successfully gained level 1 you will work towards Level 2. Both tests are multiple choice and are completed on-line. They last 1 hour 15 minutes, and are only taken when you are ready to do so. There is no longer any coursework required for the level 2 test. Once you have passed level 2 the course is complete.
