The teacher will record your progress and provide informal, regular feedback throughout the course. At the end of your study programme you will be asked to self assess your own progress and achievement against the expected achievements as outlined above. Assessment The assessment of BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering) will be at unit level with an over-all qualification grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction. Each unit will be graded pass, merit or distinction. A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher-level achievement, which may be drawn from the higher-level skills. The BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Civil Engineering) qualification is assessed using a variety of techniques depending on the nature of the unit being studied. In general there is a mixture of ?in course? assignments (some timed constrained) reports, technical presentations, fieldwork, laboratory work.
