This informal course is for anyone interested in 'getting creative' with garments, upcycling and who enjoys sewing. Ideal for the beginner or those who would like to brush-up their existing skills/knowledge. Knowledge of using a sewing machine is not essential as tuition will be given. Sewing Machines are provided Learn how to create:- a garment from scratch - how to use a commercial pattern correctly. aprons, peg bags, tote bags or re-invent that item in the back of your wardrobe that you love but just can't part with for whatever reason create cushion covers, box seat covers or curtains cover a small stool/chair (must be portable) There are many more options available as well as tuition in adjusting your own pattern for a bespoke fit. If you go for the 're-vamping' option and are not sure if you will like your adjustment then why not practice on an old item or inexpensive charity/Ebay buy first eg a pair of curtains to make a template for soft furnishing projects.

Entry requirements

A basic sewing kit is required (needles, pins, cotton, tape measure, scissors). If you know what you would like to make but need some advice then bring along a picture/drawing for a consultation with the tutor at the first week or start small and make a cushon or basic bag.
