Course shortcode: MAT03 A Level Mathematics can lead to further study at university or enhance your employment prospects, as it is valued highly by employers. During both AS and A Level, you will study two compulsory modules plus one applied module, which must be chosen from Statistics 1, Mechanics 1 and Decision Maths 1 during first year, and Statistics 1, Mechanics 1, Decision 1, Mechanics 2 and Decision 2 during second year. Further Maths is available for students in their second year of Maths A Level study and suitable for those who have achieved A* or A at GCSE Level. In recent years, Further Maths has become more highly regarded as a differentiator for university applications. Those with exceptional ability in Mathematics and problem solving may wish to consider Further Maths. Note: with the application modules (Decision Maths 1, Decision Maths 2, Mechanics 1, Mechanics 2, Mechanics 3) the lower numbered module must be taken before progressing.
