What will I do on this study programme? This study programme will be an exciting route into the beauty therapy industry. You will develop your specialist beauty therapy skills through the study of the following areas health and safety practice, client care and communication, manicure/pedicure treatments, applying make-up, eyelash and brow treatments, facial skincare, remove hair using waxing techniques, salon reception duties, contribute to the effective running of business, display stock to promote sales and nail art. You will further develop your knowledge and apply the skills you have learned through working in a real life commercial salon with external clients. In addition, all learners are expected to undertake CollegePlus sessions, tutorials, and English and maths development sessions which combined, will prepare learners for further study and/or future employment. How will I be assessed? We will assess you all through the year with online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You will also have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and you will manage targets that have been set throughout the year for you by your tutor. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to VRQ Diploma, Level 3 in either Beauty Therapy, Holistic Therapy, Nail Services, or Sport Massage Beauty Therapy, Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3. Job/career opportunities A career such as beauty therapist in a beauty clinic or spa.
