What will I do on this A Level? You will get a broad-based experience of maths through modules and a choice of two from the following mechanics, statistics or decision maths. It covers the fundamental concepts in algebra, geometry and calculus. In the mechanics module you will learn how to apply these concepts to problems encountered in physics and engineering. The statistics module will teach you how to apply these concepts to aspects of other pure sciences, social sciences, computing, business, economics and finance. The decision module will incorporate algorithms, graphing theory and linear programming, teaching you how to apply them in computing and business. How will I be assessed? All the modules are assessed by examinations. What options do I have after completing this A Level? Progress to A degree at university in mathematics, science, engineering or technology A science-related apprenticeship. Job/career opportunities Careers exist in computing, engineering, business and finance. A Level Mathematics is highly regarded by employers and is the A Level that is rewarded by the greatest salary on average.
