This programme is a broad based course designed to allow you the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in various areas of design, digital image preparation and digital media production. The course is particularly appropriate for school leavers and mature students who have an interest in graphic design and computing arts. Blending traditional design techniques with interactive digital processes, you will produce a variety of work suitable for advertising, marketing, web design, print and publishing. Students with an enthusiasm for design creativity and the manipulation of graphics and typography will benefit most from this course. Delivery includes taught lecture periods, academic support tutorials, computer workshops, design studio workshops, presentations and small group workshops. Personal study is also required. In addition to your main programme, you will study English and maths. Depending on your grades on entry, you will study either Functional Skills or GCSEs English and maths (one per year).
