The course deals specifically with developing participants knowledge about the English language as well as improving their reading, writing and speaking and listening skills. The core units are: a) Analysing English language for literacy and language teaching; b) Reading skills for literacy and language teaching; c) Speaking and listening skills for literacy and language teaching; d) Writing skills for literacy and language teaching. You will learn by a mixture of peer and independent study, research and ICT-based work, reading and whole class teaching. You will also have access to the computing resources in the College, including the latest multi-media facilities in the FLEX. At the end of the course, you will be required to complete supervised assessments in each of the 4 units, which you must pass in order to qualify for the Award.
