The field of Hair Styling & Make-Up Artistry is an ever expanding one and this qualification will develop the knowledge and skills that you need to enter this exciting and rewarding industry. You will be trained by our highly qualified creative staff at our east ham campus At Level 2 you will gain an excellent range of skills and we will provide you with a starting point towards a career in the industry. You will be introduced to aspects of hair and media make-up, learning a range of techniques and styles, including dressing hair, applying different occasion make-up, colouring and basic wig making . GCSE-Retakes You will be retaking your GCSE Maths and English, if you did not achieve Grade C in any of these subjects, as part of your course to enable you to progress onto Level-3 qualifications. Work Experience opportunity As part of the programme you will conduct a work placement in a hair salon. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. Enrichment Activities A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are lectures by guest speakers from leading stylists and salon managers Visits to various industry leaders, trade events or seminars. You will have an opportunity to participate in internal and external events where you will be able to show case your skills. Working back stage at fashion show events and theatre performances. You will take part in our end of year event where you will be given the opportunity to use your creative design skills complete a look for the catwalk. I-Learning Sessions This is additional time embedded in your programme for your study to promote independent learning.
