If you wish to gain valuable insight into the barbering industry then this is the course for you. You will develop basic skills and relevant industry knowledge, through experiential learning of selected techniques and products. This course is designed for individuals who wish to achieve the basic skills required for progression in the Barbering industry from junior level. This course will ensure you are on the right path in developing sufficient communication and occupational skills for progression onto a level 2 barbering or hairdressing related programme. Youll be taught by our highly skilled team of professional Hairdressing staff in specialist classrooms at east ham campus. Practical assessments take place throughout the year on paying clients. During the course you will produce a portfolio of evidence containing both practical and theory work. Students who wish to develop their literacy skills will also benefit, as this subject will be embedded within the vocational course. During your course of study you will carry out work placement within the hair and beauty department and be involved in college promotional events such as children in need and red nose fund raisers, this will help to help build your communication skills and confidences
